Religion existences and differences lead to numerous beliefs that clash or match.

Religious leader of Islam, Abdulla, and religious leader on Jehovah’s witnesses, Debbie in Birmingham City Centre, discusses how the religions both objectify interfaith religions. The scriptures do not allow two different religions to mix and unite as one.

Islam follow the Holy book called The Quran, Islamic followers are believed to follow only the teachings of Allah as a guideline to live life.

Abdulla said, ‘you can only marry the people of the book, but Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity they are not religious’.

‘They are next to nothing’ he added. Although, in Islam, Jews and Christians are in acceptances as they are part of the Quran.

Abdulla had described religions outside of Islam as made up, ‘Sikhism believe in all religions. Religion does not exist in that way. God does not accept it; you have to follow messengers’.

Islamic teaches a Muslim cannot marry non-believer. ‘You cannot marry in Sikhism, Buddhism, Hinduism; they are best to nothing’.

If the dis-believer becomes a believer the converting, the couple are not rejected in marriage. Abdulla had expressed that if the individual still believes in their own religion then it cannot be accepted, as you cannot believe in two religions.

Jehovah’s witness religious leader had similar life guidelines as she said, ‘everything we think goes back to the bible. There are quite a few differences in what Christians believe and Jehovah’s Witnesses’.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses bible guideline states believers are not permitted to marry somebody of a different religion.

‘At the same time not everyone chooses to follow those guidelines, it would be between them and their relationship with God’.

Religion differences fall as Debbie said ‘it does say if you have different beliefs, you just make the marriage work and it wouldn’t encourage one to divorce’. With guidelines as such make it difficult to understand the acceptance of interfaith relationships between couples. One religion like Jehovah’s Witnesses may accept if the couple can work it out, whereas a religion like Islam opposes unless both individuals have the same beliefs.

Religious differences are apparent, and can make decisions difficult to make in interfaith relationships, as beliefs are different.

Islam and Jehovah’s Witnesses teach to follow your religion regardless, as Debbie added her religion teaches you to ‘never get mixed up into anything that would offend God’.
