Veer Zaara - It is a love story with no boundaries of religion or love.
"Which era do these people belong to?" Saamiya Siddiqui (Rani Mukherjee) asked about Veer and Zaara, she asked who can live with the "idea" of love for 22 years.
The heart-warming traditional story of Veer-Zaara is an emotional roller-coaster. A prisoner, who has not spoken a word in 22-years, finally breaks his sealed lips to a young lawyer. Veer hears his name called rather than his prison number by lawyer Saamiya, he begins to tell more than three hours of his love story.
Now wait, who said Love stories are all the same? There's more to this love story than just holding hands and singing. The 2004 Veer Zaara is a musical, romantic drama focused on the interplay of love between Veer Pratap Singh (Shah Rukh Khan) who is an officer and pilot in the Indian force. One day he meets a beautiful Pakistani heiress, Zaara Hayaat Khan (Preity Zinta), as she sets on a journey to immerse her Sikh grandmother's ashes in native India.
Veer Zaara provides an extraordinary plot. Yash Chopra directs a strong demeanour filled with human nature of emotions that told a story of pain and struggles faced by an Indian and Pakistani because they fell in love.
The one day Veer-Zaara spent together was something that seemed like a sweet story, but only turned sour in a matter of time. Not forgetting that Zaara is engaged, but wishes to not think about it as she does not want to think about changing herself for anyone. The love between the two was tested through melodrama and intense destiny, after Zaara's malicious fiancé meets her at the train station.
Bollywood fans without a doubt are to expect a downpour of tears from this scene onwards. The Sikh-Muslim religion becomes the reason why Zaara is locked out of love, unable to liberate herself from the upcoming marriage with her fiancé.
Veer-Zaara is sure to be Bollywood heaven for audiences. There's romance, comedy and action all packed in one.
When it comes to traditional values and beliefs on religion we all have different views on the acceptance of interfaith relationships, as did the families of Veer and Zaara.
So grab yourselves a stack of tissue boxes to find out how Saamiya proves Veer's innocence, as she compliments their soulful love story.
It is a love story with no boundaries of religion or love.
